The 29th Annual North Georgia Folk Festival will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Sandy Creek Park, Athens, Georgia.

Monday Sept 10
@ The Melting Point Pavilion

Our monthly show will highlight our upcoming North Georgia Folk Festival happening on October 6 at Sandy Creek Park north of Athens.  And, this month’s Hoot will be located on the Pavilion, which is in the center of the Foundry Park/ Melting Point parking lot.  We love the pavilion with it’s party lights and big ceiling fans! AND the Hoyt House will be serving up a special menu of delicious food!

This month we’ll welcome back, from Rome, GA, Little Country Giants, who blend originals with a wonderful old time country feel!  They have played the festival in the past and we welcome them back to play our preview show!

Also, returning to the Hoot is The Corduroy Road, who are playing at this years festival!  They are planning a stripped down version of the band for the preview show, the full band for the festival!

AND we have toe tapping Old Time fiddle tunes from String Theory, who often play for the Folk Society’s monthly dance and have also played at a past festival.  We’ll also be giving out posters, postcards and making announcements about our upcoming festival!  Susan Staley opens and hosts the show.  athensfolk.org for more information!
